Rain won’t put a dampener on your day at The BIG Sheep because there is always undercover fun to be had. The Ewetopia play barn, with its upstairs and downstairs seating, Bo Peep’s Café and huge indoor play area including slides, ball pits, crawl spaces, rope bridges and climbs, is a very popular choice. With its dedicated toddler area and a baby sensory room, all ages are catered for too.
The Animal Barn is an amazing place to while away a passing shower. Packed with animals including Sheep, lambs, Alpacas, Llamas, pigs and pygmy goats, you and your flock can get up close and personal with ours as they love meeting new people, especially those with a bag of sheep food.
Pets Corner is located to the rear of our animal barn and this is where you can meet our rabbits and guinea pigs and their babies. We often have chicks and ducklings in pets corner and a couple of times a year you’ll find a litter of border collie puppies too. Pets Corner is open from 10am to 5pm with a daily show at 3pm where you hold and cuddle the animals and find out all about them from our friendly barn team.
Three of the nine daily shows take place outdoors, but these can be viewed undercover too. Covered seating keeps customers dry during the duck trials, we have a sheltered viewing area for customers watching the dog trials, and a covered walkway provides rain proof protection for customers watching our world-famous sheep race. All other shows take place in our show arena.
Brought a picnic? No problem we have a covered picnic area outside of the brewery shop and another beside Ewetopia although you may have to stake out a table during busier times.
Our Sheepy Shop is another great place to while away a sudden downpour. With everything from pocket money toys through to books and games, from clothing to locally brewed ales and distilled gins.
All of our rides with the exception of the roller coaster continue to operate when it’s raining. Twister ride, swan pedaloes, piggy tractor, carousel, train ride and tractor safari can be enjoyed rain or shine. The train ride is a great one for a rainy day as the station is undercover and the carriages all have roofs.
So if you are worried that rain might stop play, rest assured, you’ll have a top day out at The BIG Sheep come whatever the weather. We look forward to seeing ewe soon!
